ABOUT THE DESIGNER, YVES-MARIE TANTON
With over 650 completed boat designs and projects over a 43 year period, Tanton is well versed in all aspects of yacht design, naval architecture, marine engineering, new construction and brokerage. Known as the yacht designer’s naval architect, he has dozens of champion boats to his credit.
A pioneer in the use of carbon fiber spars, he has proven to the world the superiority qualities of carbon fiber, allowing boats to have masts that are much lighter and stronger. An example can be seen on the Tanton 43 and Tanton 45 cat ketches.
